Full Arch Restoration
Also known as: Full arch implants, implant bridge, complete arch, teeth in a day, fixed full arch
Replacing an entire arch of teeth with a fixed implant-supported bridge.
Full arch restoration replaces all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw with a fixed bridge supported by implants. Unlike dentures, the bridge is permanently fixed in place — it cannot be removed and functions like natural teeth.
How many implants are needed?
Typically 4–6 implants per arch. The All-on-4 protocol uses four implants (two straight at the front, two angled at the back). All-on-6 uses six implants for additional support, which may be preferable where bone quality is lower or bite forces are higher.
The bridge
The final bridge is typically made from zirconia, acrylic, or a combination of materials with a titanium substructure. It is screw-retained directly onto the implants — there is no cement, and it can be removed by a dentist for cleaning or maintenance if needed.
Cleaning and maintenance
The bridge is fixed and cannot be removed for cleaning. Patients need to clean underneath it daily using interdental brushes, water flossers, and bridge-specific floss. Annual professional maintenance cleaning and implant assessment is essential.
Cost and value
Full arch treatment represents a significant investment (from £14,000 per arch at Pure Implant Health), but compared to the long-term cost and quality-of-life impact of implant-supported dentures, it offers outstanding value for many patients.
